Last Minute Fall Waterfall Photo Workshop in Western NC

Posted by Juan Pons

Over the past few weeks I have gotten a handful of requests to run a fall foliage & waterfall photo workshop in western North Carolina. I originally had planned to hold such a workshop in 2010, but not this year. However because of the number of requests I have received lately, I have decided to see if enough people are interested in attending such a workshop in such short notice.

This workshop will be very similar to the workshop I have scheduled in the spring of 2010. You can find out more about that workshop and see some sample images and videos here:

Here are some of the details of the workshop:

October 2009
Thu. 22 Meet at hotel in Brevard by 6pm for introductions and short presentation
Fri. 23 Intense waterfall Photography during the day, image review and/or presentation in the evening
Sat. 24 Intense waterfall Photography during the day, image review and/or presentation in the evening
Sun. 25 Intense waterfall Photography during the morning, workshop ends between 2-3pm

Target falls to visit are as follow:

High Falls
Hooker Falls
Triple Falls
Slick Rock Falls
Looking Glass Falls
Dry Falls
Cullasaja Falls
Whitewater Falls
French Broad Falls
Shoal Creek Falls
Cathedral Falls
Courthouse Falls

These are LOTS of falls on this list and we will most likely not get to all of them, but we can try.

The cost would be $300 per person, not including lodging or meals. I would block a series of hotel rooms so that we can all stay at the same location. In order to increase the chances of doing this short notice tour.

Oct. is high season in this area and while I have not yet booked the rooms, my target price for the hotel rooms is in the $100-$120 a night range. This is the typical high season price in this area for a hotel like a Holiday Inn Express.

Please do let me know ASAP if you are interested in going on this tour. Because of the short notice I would need to get confirmation from you ASAP.

The predictions for leaf color this fall are very good and should be a great time.

If you are interested in this last minute photo tour/workshop, email me ASAP at email hidden; JavaScript is required .

Hope you can make it!
